Celebrating Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day at Serenity Bali

On Monday, 17 August 2026, Indonesia came together to celebrate its 81st Independence Day, and here at Serenity Bali, our team joined the celebrations in true Serenity style: with community, connection, plenty of laughter, and a little friendly competition.
Our day began bright and early at 7:15 AM with a beach clean-up, giving our team the chance to celebrate by caring for the beautiful island we’re lucky to call home. With the beach looking a little brighter, we continued the morning with an Independence Day ceremony at 8:30 AM, honouring this special day and celebrating Indonesian culture and heritage together.
But the celebrations didn’t stop there!
In the afternoon, the atmosphere became a little more competitive. At 2:15 PM, our team went head-to-head in a hilarious lettuce-eating competition, followed shortly after by the ultimate Independence Day classic: tug of war at 2:45 PM.
With teams cheering each other on, plenty of laughter, and everyone giving it their all, it was the perfect way to bring our Serenity family together. And, of course, there were prizes for the winning teams!
For us, Independence Day was about more than competitions. It was a chance to celebrate together, appreciate our community, take care of our surroundings, and enjoy the people who make Serenity what it is.
