Bali has become one of the world’s leading destinations for yoga and wellness, attracting visitors seeking movement, relaxation, and deeper connection. In Canggu, yoga is more than just a fitness activity—it is part of a conscious lifestyle.
However, choosing between Vinyasa, Yin, and Hatha yoga can feel confusing at first. Each style offers a different experience and supports different wellness goals. At Serenity Eco Guesthouse & Yoga, you don't have to stick to just one. With a diverse schedule and unique facilities, guests can explore multiple yoga styles in one peaceful and eco-conscious environment.
The Ultimate Freedom: 3 Natural Eco-Studios
What sets the yoga experience apart at Serenity Bali is the exceptional variety of spaces. Rather than practicing in a single enclosed room, you have the ultimate freedom to choose between three distinct, naturally built open-air eco-studios, each offering a unique energy and a wide range of choices to match your daily mood:
The Garden Studio: Tucked away amidst lush tropical greenery and permaculture gardens, providing a deeply grounding, earth-connected space perfect for inner reflection.
The Shala Studio: A beautiful, traditional bamboo structure featuring high ceilings and catching the gentle, refreshing coastal breezes of Canggu.
The Big Studio: An expansive, elevated open-air pavilion designed to hold vibrant community energy, grand workshops, and uplifting group practices.
Whether you want to sweat in a breezy environment or meditate to the sound of rustling leaves, our three studios ensure you always find your perfect setting.
Breaking Down the Styles: Which One is For You?
1. Vinyasa Yoga: Dynamic and Energizing
Vinyasa yoga is a flowing and active practice that seamlessly connects breath with movement. Classes move through continuous sequences, creating an energizing and physically engaging experience.
Ideal for those who: Enjoy constant movement and variety, want to build strength and flexibility, prefer a faster-paced class, or are active travelers (like surfers) looking to balance their stamina.
2. Yin Yoga: Slow and Restorative
Yin yoga focuses on complete stillness, deep connective tissue stretching, and mental relaxation. Poses are held on the floor for longer periods (3 to 5 minutes) to release deep-seated physical tension and calm the mind.
Ideal for those who: Need physical recovery and rest, want to reduce anxiety and stress, prefer a meditative pace, or need to soothe their nervous system after intense travel or sports.
3. Hatha Yoga: Balanced and Beginner-Friendly
Hatha yoga is the traditional foundation of all physical yoga styles. It moves at a slower pace than Vinyasa, focusing on holding individual postures, proper breathing techniques, and body awareness.
Ideal for those who: Are absolute beginners starting their yoga journey, prefer a slower but steady pace, want to improve posture and structural alignment, or want to build a rock-solid foundation.
Finding the Right Practice for Your Bali Experience
The best yoga style depends entirely on what your body and mind are asking for each day. The beauty of having access to three different eco-studios and an extensive schedule is that you can mix and match to create a personalized routine:
Choose Vinyasa for morning energy and dynamic movement.
Choose Hatha for midday balance and foundational alignment.
Choose Yin for evening relaxation and deep physical recovery.
Many long-stayers and travelers discover that combining these different styles across our different spaces creates the most complete, holistic wellness experience.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
If I want a deep, challenging practice, is Hatha or Yin too easy for me? / If I’m a beginner, is Vinyasa too hard?
Not at all! Yoga at Serenity Bali isn't about rigid boxes. A Hatha or Yin class can become a deeply intense, advanced practice if you choose to explore your edge and hold postures with deep mindfulness. Conversely, our dynamic Vinyasa classes always come with accessible options. For example, if the class moves into an advanced inversion like a headstand, you can always choose to stay in Downward-Facing Dog—which is still a powerful inversion! Our experienced teachers are dedicated to guiding you safely at your own pace. No matter your level, just come as you are and try!
Are there extra fees for borrowing yoga mats or blocks? What facilities are included?

There are absolutely no hidden costs or extra rental fees here. When you practice in any of our 3 natural eco-studios, high-quality yoga mats, blocks, straps, and bolsters are completely provided on-site for free. Furthermore, we provide complimentary Alkaline water refill stations throughout the sanctuary, so you can stay fully hydrated with clean, premium water before and after your practice. All you need to bring is yourself and a reusable water bottle!
