  • 5 min read

Imagine waking up in a giant bamboo tree house, rolling out your yoga mat as the sun rises over Canggu, and spending your days moving mindfully, eating nourishing plant-based food, and living simply. At Serenity Eco Guesthouse, this can be everyday life, and it’s affordable.

Staying at Serenity ecoguesthouse can cost you less than $100 for the whole week. Homestays nearby and around Canggu range from $100- $500 for the week.

The Unlimited Yoga Holiday at Serenity Eco Guesthouse, is designed for travelers seeking balance, sustainability, connection and a place to do unlimited yoga without the price tag of a luxury retreat. This option ranges from $130 to $345 depending on the room you choose.

Here are some ideas for your 7 - day itinerary…

Day 1 arrival and yin yoga

If you’re arriving from overseas, you can book a Grab directly from the airport to Canggu for around $13! The airport pickup lounge makes it easy and stress-free.

An hour later, your journey begins in Canggu. Settle into your temporary home and let the rhythm of Bali soften your pace.

Grab a green tea latte and salad from Alkaline Cafe, connected to Serenity, to fuel your day for 100K which is $5.94. The ingredients for your lunch come from Serenity’s garden.

Settle into your surroundings with a peaceful beachside walk and take in the ocean views for free.

Then, book into your first yin session, which is 139K if you don’t have the unlimited yoga class. This is $8.26.

Finish your day journaling in a comfortable spot and try some local food from a diner like Warung Sika, where you can grab a full plate of local food for 50K, accommodated by a fresh coconut which is $2.97.

In total, your first day has cost you around $30.

Day 2 Udara Sunday festival

Udara is a well known yoga festival on the beach in Bali, a fun day filled with dancing, yoga workshops and restorative facilities like sound healing, saunas and icebaths. A full 6 hour day ticket is 350K ($20.86). You can add food from the all you can eat buffet that is open from 10am to 2.30pm for 150K ($8.94).

Take a grab bike to Udara. If you are coming from Serenity Eco Guesthouse it’s around 70k, so there and back will cost you $4.71.

After a zen but energising day out, head to I Am Vegan Babe, a cute vegan cafe and restaurant in Canggu that offers so many delicious vegan options, including pudding! Dinner and desert will cost about 140K which is $8.34.

This day will be roughly $43.

Day 3 Learn and Energize

Start your day with a vegan breakfast at Alkaline Cafe. It’s already included on your accommodation package, indulge yourself with all you can eat vegan breakfast buffet from 7 AM to 10 AM.

On 10 AM you can learn about the Permaculture garden, finding eco ways to make a difference at your own home, from compost making to mushroom harvesting. This is a free activity where you will be inspired, learn and grow.

Then, energise yourself with a Kundalini class in the afternoon. This is a unique style of yoga that aims to raise the snake within your spine. Tap into something new within yourself and broaden your horizon. At Serenity, this class is 139K ($8.26).

After this, pop to Alkaline Cafe, downstairs at Serenity and fuel yourself with a well deserved yogi burger for 75K ($4.50).

Relax by the pool or at the beach to fill your afternoon after a busy morning and then head to HoiAn by Me Vui for a light and refreshing Vietnamese dinner, getting a starter and main course for 100K ($5.94)

This day has cost you $18.7.

Day 4 hiking then relax

Today is your biggest adventure.

Join a Mount Batur sunrise hike, one of Bali’s most iconic experiences. Group tours cost 600K ($35.65) from Serenity and include:

  • Early morning pickup

  • Snacks and hot tea

  • A guide

  • Tree planting at the start of the hike

Seeing the views above the clouds, while standing on an active volcano is unforgettable and deeply grounding.

Once you’re back in Canggu, keep the rest of the day slow. Nap, stretch, or float in the pool, your body will thank you.

Grab a pumpkin burger or something else yummy and organic at Superfood Canggu for 70K ($4.17)

In total, this day is $40.

Day 5 massage and recover

Start your day with a well-earned buffet breakfast at Alkaline Café for 60K ($3.57).

After yesterday’s hike, it’s time to fully relax. Treat yourself to a traditional Balinese massage, a one-hour session costs around 160K ($9.50). Perfect for sore hamstrings and tight hips after hiking.

Spend the afternoon moving slowly: journaling by the pool, reading in a hammock, or wandering to the beach for a gentle walk and dip in the ocean.

Take yourself to LowCal Cheatery & Bar for some dinner and live music for a relaxing and atmospheric evening. Grab a mixed plate, with hummus, babaganoush, tabbouleh, falafel, sweet potato fries, bread for 90K ($5.35).

You have spent roughly $18.

Day 6 surf and sunset

Grab a breakfast smoothie for 60K ($3.57) at Two Face Canggu before hitting the waves, you don't want to be too full up and you want to go early for the small waves if you are a beginner.

Go down to the beach and find surf schools all along the coast line. I recommend Batu Bolong, because there are lots to choose from. Don’t pay more than 350K which is $20.78. You will get a full two hour session with one to one help from a surf coach. It’s so much fun, and satisfying catching your first wave. If you already know how to surf, hiring a board costs around 50K ($2.97).

Join a restorative yoga class for $8.26 to release the muscles you have been working hard to catch the waves with.

Then, spend the rest of the day relaxing with a matcha along the sea front for 35K ($2.08) and grab some lunch at Toasties for 95K ($5.60).

In the evening, head to Pescado Pererenan Bali for tapas and live music (weekends from 6:30pm).

Share a Paella de Vegetal for 250K ($14.85) between two people, or enjoy half for around $7.40 if you’re solo.

Today’s cost is approximately $48

Day 7 reflection

Start your day with a well-earned buffet breakfast at Alkaline cafe for 60K ($3.57).

To follow a hardcore day of catching waves, you may need another massage. A full Balinese massage will cost you 160K ($9.50) for one hour.

The lovely masseuse will ask you what you want to concentrate on the most, excellent after surfing where your scapula needs some tender loving.

Celebrate your final day with a matcha and cheesecake at MUUSE for 60K ($3.55), a gentle treat to savour your last bit of Canggu.

Spend some time packing slowly, reflecting on the week, and soaking in the calm you’ve cultivated.

Close your journey with a Yin & Sound Healing class at Serenity for 139K ($8.26). This deeply restorative session is the perfect way to integrate everything you’ve experienced, movement, stillness, connection, and simplicity.

Total for the day: approximately $25

Other activities that you can add to your itinerary:
  • Sunset at Tanah lot followed by Creative City, Bali for a stunning evening and some artistic culture.
